| Deck Changes from MPDC 12.06
Sided 2 Burst Lightning, 3 Wrap in Flames, and 2 Searing Blaze. Added 4 Flame Slash and 3 Volcanic Strength Removed Rally the Forces, Crusher Zendikon and Act of Treason entirely. My big losses last tourney were against RUW control, I hope the mountainwalk will help out a little. Let's see how it does. R1 - L 0-2 vs dudaseifert playing RW landfall my secret anti-red tech, volcanic strength, only helped a little in game one for some early beats with an arsonist. it came really close in the second game. i was hoping to get a geopede and slap a volcanic strength on him, then drop a mountain and swing for the last 5, but it just didn't happen. R2 - W 2-0 VS Renato_Gaara playing ?4 color control? Dude rearranges teh top of his library a lot. I see skyfishers, Halimar Depths, doom blades, a sea-gate oracle, burst lightning and squadron hawk (just one), but they're not fast enough to stop early beats, and I get late game burn for the win. Both times I got a volcanic strength onto a 'pede, it just became a huge target. Hmph. R3 W 2-0 VS Marniko playing UWR control I manage to burn creatures and swarm him with geopedes and goblins. In one turn I used my rebounded staggershock to hit his skyfisher, to get an arsonist through unblocked, then bolted the skyfisher anyway :) R4 L1-2 VS Morpphling playing White Weenie I don't know if weenie is appropriate, all of his guys had higher toughness than mine except the squawks. i sided out manic vandals and kuldotha ringleaders for more burn, and we spent turns 1-12 each game playing a creature and burning or pacifying the opponent's last creature, trading to keep things even. When it got down to the wire, though, he had stronger creatures and they had flying. Staggershock was a star player, keeping him from playing a creature some turns, or knocking a skyfisher down to 1 so I could Blisterstick it. R5 L 1-2 VS falubaziaczek playing WUR control This game went long! We traded bolts and journey to nowheres for the first 15 rounds of each game, then one of us got the upper hand. Each time I had him down 5 life before he stabilized and then beat me up. I kept wishing for the wrap in flames during game one. I think I'm gonna try putting the torch goblin with the shock. Maybe the Volcanic Strength should be sided out for Burst Lightning maindeck. |
