[MM] Gimme the Mic: stiffdiddypinky

It took me some effort, both because I needed to log-in to MTGO and because todays guest doesn't visit these boards very regularily. But without further ado; stiffdiddypinky.

Who are you if you're not playing PDC and where are you from?
My Name is David Blades, 29. I'm from the North East of England, a town called Guisborough, near Middlesbrough. I work as a Lifeguard and am the proud father of two.

[<- Which raises the question: does stiff have any resemblance to everyones favorite lifeguard?]

How did you come in contact with PDC and what made you decide to join?
It was an 'Into the Aether' article on www.wizards.com, at the time I had very few cards so a cheap format was definatly appealling. So I jumped into a classic event and promptly crashed out, losing every match and every game.

What is your favorite format? Standard, FutEx, Classic, Block, etc.?
Definatly Standard. I think with a more accessible card pool, and a more forgiving environment, its a good format for new players to begin with. New players help keep things fresh and fun.

What do you most enjoy about playing Magic?
The fact that it always make you think, and even when you think you know it all about a certain archetype you'll play someone that does it differently and you'll learn some more.

Your favorite Standard PDC card?
Mm tricky.. Before the Last rotation I would have said Momentary Blink, but I don't think its quite as good now. I've been having some success with WW recently, but no one card really stands out from that deck. So I guess I'll pick the only card that WW would really suffer if it was missing....Plains

What is your favorite deck in Standard at the moment? WW? Why?
WW is the deck I've been playing (to good results), but I'm not sure i would say its my favourite. It has a good game against all the rest of the field - with one exception - Storm Control (which is definitely my least favourite).

Do you have any predictions on Shadowmoor in Standard?
I've not looked into Shadowmoor too much - I don't play paper magic so I don't pay a lot of attention to new sets until they appear online. But there does seem to plenty of ways to stall aggro decks, so perhaps the format will slow down again.

V3; hate it or love it?
The playing side of things isn't too bad, but trading is a complete nightmare. I'm not going to say anything else bad about it, as there's plenty of places to read that. Hopefully things will improve.

Thanks for your time, any final words?
Just that this is a great community and everyone involved past and present, at all levels, should be very proud.
