RECORDED LIVE FROM THE SPDC 7.02 FINALS

I was really tired after I lost in the semifinals, and I should have gone straight to bed, but I wanted to try narrating a finals match at the request of some.

Surely it would be more interesting with more commentators, but I'm curious to what degree something like this appeals to the average Pauper out there.

What kinds of information (especially the stuff I didn't think of as I was watching this match tonight) would be good in future live match coverage?

Download after the "jump" then come back and let me know!

This was great for me as due to my living in the UK the time difference generally means i miss out on any chance of watching SPDC and so hearing a well informed commentary on the finals was wonderful, along with your podcasts this moves PDCMagic.com's already great coverage of all things pauper into a whole new dimension (it will be even better if you manage to incorporate the supporing Video.) Keep up that great work guys. :)

I think it worked well without video, as long as you are remotely familiar with the format. You could use a color guy, but I thought you described the action really well. It was pretty easy for me to follow, anyway. I'd love to hear more of these!

Good work on this one, Polyjak. I have to say how much I was surprised by the SUPERB sound quality! I, for one, would like this to be accompanied with a video of the actual play.

I found it hard to keep track of everything what was going on - I could perfectly imagine the actual action as you described / commented it, but I immediately lost a track of it as you presented us with more information. Having said that, unless you told us what the life totals were or which creatures were still on board, I could only guess (or rewind).

Maybe you could try make this with a video next time and see how it works? Anyway, great work!

I think the Play, by play format without the video can work, and I did enjoy this podcast. However, You really need a partner, a colorcaster, to fill in the time when nothing is happening.

Awesome :P

This makes me really miss replays (not that I'd ever had a chance to use them before they took them down recently). Would have been cool to watch it again with neutral commentary, and make it easier to see if chumping would've let me hold on.

I think Branching Bolt should make the SB in the future.

Runes of the Deus in place of Thunder might be good, or something that grants Trample at least.

A good effort. The format without video makes following the action a little difficult, and after some talking, Jack agreed that the audio medium is better used for actual commentary rather than recapping the live action.

I like having these types of files open and listening to them as I play or surf the web. I pick up on little tidbits about a certain interaction or the host will tell a story about a gameplay situation they were in and I like that feeling associated with those parts.
